(at my other schools)…”I could not concentrate because of the presssure of asking the wrong question and other kids might laugh at me. But now at Tetra I can ask any question and no one will laugh.” –Tetra 8th grader
“Here at Tetra it is better than my neighborhood school because this school is more individualized to me. There is less peer pressure on all of us students. It is way more relaxed and it is definitely easier for me to work–but the work isn’t easier.” –Tetra Freshman
Excerpt from Parent Letter to Carmen:
I wish you guys could hear how excited Zane has been about school the last couple of days. Carmen, thanks for “making” Zane do art. He brought home his pastel picture and has talked about it constantly. His fingers were still orange today, but he was very proud of them! I heard about the properties of pastels, how they are different from crayons and markers, and how he blended and mixed them to make the perfect orange. When he showed me the picture, I asked him about class, and he said you “made” him go. I think it was great that you did that. He is very proud of his accomplishment and it’s on the fridge.
And today he said it was the best day ever because he got the slurpee! But I think it was pride and a feeling of importance because he got to “teach” some math. I’ve always thought Zane would thrive in a leadership role, and I know you’ve done this with him before, but I wish you could see how happy he is tonight. He seems more at ease, like he belongs and he is part of something.
So, thanks. Just clone yourselves 3 or 4 times, OK???!
