FAQ

Q: How long has Tetra been in existence?

A:  Tetra first opened its doors in September of 2001.

Q. What exactly is Tetra Academy?

A. Tetra Academy is an approved learning center for HOPE Online Co-Op.  What this means is that your child is enrolled in Hope Online Co-op and attends school at Tetra Academy.  Hope Online Co-Op is a charter school with Douglas County School District, as such there is no tuition fee.

Q. Hope Online Co-Op is an online school.  Does this mean that students at Tetra spend all day on the computer?

A.   No.  Students spend approximately 50% of their academic time on the computer curriculum.  The rest of the school day is made up of small group lessons and hands on projects.

Q. What type of students does Tetra Academy Serve?

A. Tetra Academy specializes in students who have not done well in traditional school environments, students with learning disabilities and those who have unique learning styles.

Q. What grades does Tetra Academy Serve?

A. Tetra Academy is a 1st through 12th grade school.

Q. How do I enroll my child in Tetra Academy?

A.    Tetra Academy welcomes all students who have not done well in traditional schools and those with learning challenges to apply for admission.  Parents who are interested in enrolling their child in Tetra Academy need to complete an enrollment packet for Tetra Academy and an enrollment packet for Hope Online Co-Op.  Parents can also contact Tetra Academy directly at 303 730-7691 and Hope 303 989-3539 to obtain the enrollment packages. After a student submits the completed applications for Hope Online Co-Op and Tetra Academy, the student will visit Tetra for a “shadow” day to determine if Tetra is a good match for the student.

Q. What is the deadline for submitting the enrollment packages?

A. The window for open enrollment at Tetra Academy runs from March to September.  During this time Tetra Academy will offer informational enrollment clinics to educate the community about Tetra Academy.  Dates of these clinics are posted in the Enrollment Section of this website.

All families must complete enrollment packets for both Tetra Academy and Hope Online Co-Op to be considered for enrollment. Once the open enrollment window has closed in mid September we will begin taking names for a waiting list process.  The enrollment window may open again briefly mid-year depending on space.  Students on the waiting list will be contacted if there is an opening.
